Family Office Navigator
Context
Following the book Family Philanthropy Navigator, the family philanthropy department at IMD (the well-known Business School in Lausanne) involved our studio again, this time to collaborate on a new editorial project about the theme of the Family Office.
The request was to design a book visually linked to the previous one in terms of format, colours and overall aesthetic quality, but with an independent identity.
Process
Together with the authors, we identified a metaphor that could be applied to organize the content in an immediate and engaging way, and to build a strong visual thread throughout the book. Similarly to the previous book, we used a maritime-related imaginary to create the illustrations, which are used as decorations as well as a means to explain and further expand the information.
Solution
We designed a clean layout to help navigate a very articulate text, characterized by multiple levels of reading, tables and worksheets. Similar to Family Philanthropy Navigator, Family Office Navigator is also intended as a manual for immediate consultation and a tool to accompany families in the delicate process of managing their human and material assets.
