Installation for #GiovaniOltrelaSM

Context
AISM (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association) organized the ninth edition of the conference #GiovaniOltrelaSM (Young People Beyond MS), an annual event with the goal to inform participants and give them an opportunity to share their experiences. The key themes of the conference, identified by young people with MS, cover all areas of daily life.

Process
Listening to the experiences of people who live with MS every day, we have chosen a less didactic approach: we wanted to combine scientific information with an empathic and emotionally engaging experience, in order to portray participants’ experiences in a truthful way.

Solution
The first wall explained the condition through various animations regarding three areas: Symptoms, Medication and Emotional Sphere. The experience was customized thanks to three totems in the room, on which were placed various icons to activate navigation. The second wall allowed people to take pictures and post them directly on social media (here, Instagram) with the additional help of some balloons to convey engaging messages. The result was exciting: people were attracted by the lights of the projections and wanted to enjoy this immersive experience, getting closer to the wall.
